We are extremely excited to launch our 2024 Naas Community College 5km Colour Run on Sunday 28th April at 2 pm on our school campus.
The colour run is run by parent volunteers from our Parents Association and parents who want to get to know other parents in the school. Teachers, Students and Parents all get involved to make this event a great success. We had over 400 participants last year and over 600 attended on the day. The Colour Run is more than a run, we have Face painting, Music, Cakes, BBQ and a good old-fashioned family get-together after the runners get back. It is a great community event, and we hope to see as many of you there as can make it.
The run will start at the school, then proceed down through Millennium Park, whilst being doused and covered in colour and then finish in front of the school.
The Colour Run is currently our largest fundraising event, and your support means we have funds to realise our road map to the full development of our school grounds.
Thanks to our past sponsors Naas Community College now has funds to start work on an outdoor classroom. This amphitheatre will have multiple uses including as a performance space for school and community events in addition to being a space for open-air learning. This work has now gone to tender, and we hope to have the classroom in use this school year. With the remaining funds raised in the 2022 and 2023 Colour Runs the school has put work out to tender for the first of a series of all-weather courts and hopes to have that work complete for the start of the 2024/2025 school year.
Every year we partner with a charity that collaborates with our school and support our student’s development. The school cannot be involved in all areas of our student's lives and we want to ensure there are services to partner with when needed. With that in mind, we would like to support Insync in 2024 who already support students in our community. Insync will receive a donation of 10% of our final fundraising total after costs, (which we keep to a minimum).
“In Sync provides a wide range of youth and family services across Kildare and West Wicklow. Our approach is multi-dimensional and multi-disciplinary which means we aim to offer a truly holistic and integrated service.”
The Colour run is open to students, parents, staff, and friends of NCC, some local companies sign up as part of their sports and social activities for the year.
We hope to see lots of new and old faces, if you would like to get involved contact NCCColourun@gmail.com we would love to add some new ideas to the day.
