Mar chuid de Seachtain na Gaeilge ag Coláiste Phobal Nás na Ríogh, ghlac daltaí an chéad bhliain páirt in Óga Yoga – sin yoga trí mheáin na Gaeilge. Bhí an-spórt go deo acu ag déanamh na deasaithe ióga, ina measc, an ceann is cáiliúla, ‘downward-facing dog’. Múinteoir Miriam a chur na ranganna i láthair, agus múinteoir fíor-spreagúil a bhí inti. Chomh maith le bheith aclaí, bhí na daltaí ag foghlaim Gaeilge i slí neamh-fhorimeálta. Phioc ár múinteoir eolaíochta, Ms. Piare cúpla focal nua suas, fiú! #bairicíní
On 6th March our first year boys overcame a physical Scoil Chlongais side today. The lads established a 10 point lead in the first half and never really looked back. Baskets from Max, Pat and Tibor kept the score ticking over while Jack dominated on the boards. Our lads now advance to the regional quarter finals.
The second years fell just short in their quest for a quarter final spot going down by 8 points. Some excellent shooting from Eoghan, Leon and Ollie and great defense by Adam kept the lads in the game. However, some poor finishing and rebounding let us down. Well done to both teams on their performances.
Naas Community College will host Transition Year for the first time starting in September 2018-2019 when our current Third Years will return after their well deserved Summer break. Following on from the Transition Year Information Evening held for parents on Wednesday 21st February 2018 we have set up a new Transition Year section of our website here.
Well done to the First Year Soccer team participating in the Kildare FAI schools competition over the course of the last three weeks. It is the first year that these players have participated and they have gained some valuable experience which will stand to them in the years ahead of them. We played our group matches away to St Farnans, Prosperous, and we played a home game against Celbridge CC. Unfortunately we lost both of our matches, however the players learnt a lot to bring with them into the competition next year. Stand out performances came from John McBride and Pat Bagnall playing at left and right back, while Ben McDonald also needs a mention for his performances in the centre of midfield. Ross Watson scored our only goal in the two games, and we look forward to improving on this in the next season.
