A huge thanks to KBC for their kind sponsorship for our new senior soccer jerseys. A special mention to Colette and Graham from the Naas Branch who organised the set of jerseys through Miss Piare. The u17 team were very excited about using the new set of jerseys and we hope they bring us some luck in our future fixtures. Pictures include Sam Flynn and Mazin Elbedawi being presented with the new kit alongside Colette and Graham and a team photo to show KBC’s support for soccer in our school. Excitement is ramping up at NCC ahead of Grease the Musical performing in the Moat Theatre on 13th, 14th &15th March.

The 2nd year boys basketball team made it 4 wins from 4 today with a convincing win over Athy college. The lads took a lead early and never looked back. All 13 players made a significant contribution throughout the game. This result means that both this team and the 1st year boys have topped their group and march through to the Midland regional quarter finals. The lads will be hoping to keep up this good form and reach the semis which will take place in portlaoise. Well done to both teams

Our u17 squad played last Friday the 1st February in an exciting encounter against Maynooth C.C. With a supporters bus loaded up to come and cheer on the team for the division 2 final we were unlucky to go a goal down with the score line 1-0 down at the break. Sam and Mazin played well in the no 10 and winger roles and worked hard defensively as they pushed for an attack. Our defensive back three(Daire, Adam and Scott) were strong as a unit competing against an ROI u16 international player. As we pushed forward in the second half we conceded two quick goals and then the game came ran away from us in a 5-0 final score line. This didn’t reflect the performance of our team as they competed for large periods during the game against a physically strong squad from Maynooth. Looking forward to this young u17 team to compete next year with 9 of the starting 11 in third year. Playing a year below their age group will give them some valuable experience in their TY cup and u17 league campaign in 2019/2020 season. Congratulations to Maynooth C.C. who received the Chris O’Grady cup in memory of the Kildare referee who passed away last year. Proud of this group as always and they left everything they could on the pitch for themselves, each other and for their school. Ms Piare
Our second year girls team made it two wins from two games with a great display against St Kevin’s Dunlavin today. Every member of the squad played valuable minutes and made significant contributions.
Our second year boys basketball team are also two from two. The boys dominated in their first game of the season. The second game was far more competitive with the boys winning out by 6 points against Kildare Town Community school. Both teams are now in very strong positions to qualify for the regional quarterfinals. |
