There will be a huge emphasis placed on being active and students (and teachers) are requested to wear their PE gear during the week. There will be daily activities for students each morning and at lunch time. Each day student will have the opportunity to participate in, and enjoy healthy breakfasts. Students shall also be participating in: circuit class, an activity blitz, jumbo jenga, lacrosse, a 5K jog, and many other fun events - finishing off the week with a sports day on Friday. There will also be activities taking place during the week to help develop an awareness about the Green Schools campaign, which is ongoing in our school.
There will be prizes given for the most active students during this week - Ms Condren and Ms Thornton will be keeping a close eye in students to see who is really making an effort. Let's get out and get active! :)
Healthy Living Week, through its talks, fun activities, healthy food promotions, Green Schools campaign, lunchtime sports aims to provide students and staff with the skills needed to be resilient to meet the demands of everyday life.
“Our aim is that this will not just be a one off week but will teach people how to incorporate healthy living as an everyday part of life and overall enhancing our lives for the better.” Ms. Condren (one of the event organisers)
