This Friday, in school we are holding an "odd shoe" day and the proceeds of which will go to the charity. We would like to thank Fionnbar Walsh and the #livelife foundation for speaking to us today.
To kick start our mental health week we invited Fionnbar Walsh from the #livelife foundation, to talk to all our students and staff here in NCC. Fionnbar lost his son, Dónal, to cancer at the young age of 16 years. Fionnbar spoke to us about Dónal's death and about how much he had valued his short life. He explained to us that Dónal had accepted that he was going to die but wanted everyone else to understand that when they had a choice ,they should value their own lives. Dónal Walsh was an inspiration to the nation, he raised over €50,000 for charity and his anti suicide message had a huge impact on many. Fionnbar and his family set up the charity to continue with the work which Dónal had started. This Friday, in school we are holding an "odd shoe" day and the proceeds of which will go to the charity. We would like to thank Fionnbar Walsh and the #livelife foundation for speaking to us today. Comments are closed.
